I started as a freelance in 1996, after a career embracing all aspects of IT from operations and support to analysis and programming. My first contract was to design and implement a support service at the heart of a programme to introduce a new financial system across all of the MOD. This was delivered to time and budget and was still in operation after the end of the original delivery programme. Since then I have focused primarily on developing and improving Service Management processes to ITIL standards, although I have been drafted in to salvage projects and programmes that were struggling to meet their objectives. Clients also cover a wide spectrum, including manufacturing, finance, central government and the police. I have always met my objectives and always aim to cover the cost of my services in improved efficiencies or other savings. I have also provided strategic input and process design to some complex business change programmes, and have spent a lot of time working on the boundary between IT and the business community. As a result I offer a combination of Interim Management experience and solid programme delivery, with a deep understanding of the interface between the IT department and the rest of the business.
